terminal emulator

ghostty is fast, modern, configurable, and fits right into my gnome setup.

code editor

when on the terminal i use helix, for university i choose whatever is usually used for that language / ecosystem to not have to deal with setting things up (intellij for java, rider for c#, etc.). but mostly just visual studio code for most things.

web browsing

epiphany and firefox.

on firefox i have sidebery, ublock origin, violentmonkey with small scripts, and a few other minor add-ons.

writing and notes

markdown files: writing raw text in monospace fonts in less than 80 character width is very satisfying and i find the text to be beautiful. but most of the time i have to render the final output in some form, so for that i use markdown. it's a good balance between raw text and other markups that need to be rendered to even be readable. (recently, i have been opting for djot.)

typst. i have been using typst instead of LaTeX for document writing.

operating system

chimera and fedora, elementary os, nix os, arch linux.

miscellaneous

bitwarden for password management, ffmpeg for video stuff, fzf for fuzzy finding, ripgrep for searching.
